Working with Muslims in Europe

Several years ago I lived and worked in Germany. I worked at a warehouse which employed people of various nationalities. There were Germans, Poles, Africans, Turks, and Arabs. Since lots of Arabic students come to Germany to study, we had a group of Arabic students who worked at the warehouse.

I never spent much time with the Arab students. They tended to keep to themselves during break time. They often went upstairs to the locker room for prayer.

One interesting thing that happened while I was there was when one of the Arabic students came up to me and asked if I was Christian. I told him that I was. He then began to try to discredit Christianity. He was not hostile about it, but was conversational. He told me that Christ didn't actually start the religion of Christianity. He was shocked when I agreed with him. I told him that the Christian faith has its roots in the Old Testament, beginning with creation and the promise of the Savior, which was repeated to Abraham and all the patriarchs.

He used some other avenues to cast doubt on the Christian faith. It was an interesting discussion because I had never been "witnessed to" by a Muslim.

Is examining the roots of Christianity and casting doubt on it one of the ways Muslims seek to convince Christians to convert?
