Witnessing

In June 2009 Outreach to Muslims released a four-session DVD Bible study titled “Speaking the Truth in Love to Muslims.” Like the book with the same name, it is designed to help Christians better understand Islam, become acquainted with their Muslim neighbors as friends, and discover why Muslims need the gospel of Christ.

Proclaiming Law and Gospel

The Bible teaches two great doctrines, the law and the gospel. The law tells us what to do, and in that function it makes us aware that we have not lived up to God’s perfect standards. The gospel tells us what God has done for our salvation. Both need to be proclaimed. Witnessing to Muslims includes speaking both law and gospel in love.

The Law Shows Our Sin

The law declares what God’s will is. It includes the commands—all the things we are to do or not to do, in thought, word, deed.

How can we witness to Muslims and be ready to answer most of their questions and allegations without getting tongue tied or short for answers? The answer is: Study and know your Bible, and study the Qur'an as much as you can.

In this article, I will briefly discuss allegations that state that the Bible has been tampered with and corrupted by Jews and Christians. If you are a Christian trying to evangelize and witness to Muslims, you might come across the exclamation, "Has not the Holy Bible been corrupted by Christians?" Or, "Has not the Bible been replaced by the Qur'an?"
